According to the report of Public Relations and International Affairs of Petropars Group, Mr. Hamidreza Masoudi announced this event and also said that this drilling rig that is able to operate to a depth of 92 meters (300-foot rig) in Forouzan Oil Field in the Persian Gulf was installed on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the F-9 platform of Forouzan Oil Field.
Regarding the objective determined for the second drilling rig installed in this field, Mr. Masoudi also said that this drilling rig will operate by digging five new wells in platforms F9, F16 and F19 and five repair wells and two re-entry wells.
Regarding the task  specified in the contract for drilling in the Forouzan Oil Field, the CEO of Petropars Group said that "according to this, Petropars OilField Services Company (POSCO), one of subsidiary of Petropars Group, is going to drill 26 wells, including 12 new wells and 11 repair wells and three re-entry wells to increase the production of this field about 12,000 barrels of oil per day and achieve the predicted goals for increased oil extraction from this field.
It is worth mentioning that before this action, the first drilling rig in Forouzan Oil Field was installed on the F18 platform of this field on Friday, July 2, 2021 and the drilling operation of seven new wells on the mentioned platform started on Thursday, July 29, 2021.
It should be noted that Forouzan Oil Field is one of the old and common fields with Saudi Arabia, and it has 53 wells; the increased rate of oil extraction from it is according to a contract concluded between Iranian Offshore Oil Company as an employer and a contractor consortium consisting of Petropars Company as leader and Mobin Sazeh Company.
